12.03.12 - Met Ms. Idylwood Road outside still decorating while I was taking photo. "Only 80 more strings of lights to go". Heartwarming story of her display. In 2010 she was diagnosed with leukemia and wasn't expected to live. Her display in 2010 was a celebration of her life, which she thought was ending. Her display was off in 2011 as she went through treatment, getting a bone marrow transplant. She is now an amazing cancer survivor and her display, lit again, is once again a celebration of life and rebirth. "I should be dead" she said. I'm so glad she's still with us and greatly admire her bravery in the face of her potential tragedy! You Rock, Girl! |
